Certificate Policy and Certification Practice Statements:

On this page, all the currently valid certificate policies and certification practice statements (CP/CPS) outlining the services, procedures, liability and processes of the different SwissSign products are published. These documents form the legal basis for the relationship between SwissSign and the certificate holders.

On this page you will also find all the End User Agreements of the different products. The End User Agreement should be treated as a summary of the most important aspects of the CP/CPS. Should anything be unclear or contradictory, the CP/CPS is the binding document.

These CP/CPS' are designed according to international standards based on RFC3647. SwissSign reserves the right to modify these statements at any time and without notice.

To identify the correct CP/CPS under which a certificate was issued, the certificate itself contains an extension named "certificate policy". The certificate policy contains the OID of the CP/CPS document and an URL pointing to the download location of the digitally signed pdf version of the CP/CPS.

CP/CPS of the SwissSign Platinum CA Tree
The following list presents the different CP/CPS that are currently valid for the SwissSign Platinum Root CA and its subsidiary Issuing CAs. The previously unified CP/CPS has been split for ease of maintenance and to facilitate readability and understanding.

• CP/CPS for SwissSign Platinum Root CA - G2. This CP/CPS governs the Root CA of the Platinum Trust tree.
• CP/CPS for SwissSign Qualified Platinum CA - G2. This CP/CPS governs the issuance of qualified certificates according to Swiss digital signature law (ZertES).
• CP/CPS for SwissSign Personal Platinum CA - G2. This CP/CPS governs the issuance of certificates for natural persons and organizations.
• CP/CPS for Swiss Post Platinum CA - G2 (German). This CP/CPS governs the issuance of the "Postzertifikat", a product of the Swiss Post. Customers may request their Postzertifikat here .

End User Agreement of the SwissSign Platinum CA Tree
This EUA applies to all customers that use the Registration Authority of SwissSign and that request certificates on the Platinum level.

The SwissSign Relying Party agreement applies to all relying parties that use certificates issued by the SwissSign Personal Platinum or SwissSign Qualified Platinum CA.
