SwissSign certificates resist SSL attacks

Newsflash: SwissSign certificates resist SSL attacks

Scientists have successfully faked a SSL certificate. Through a MD5 collision they manipulated a CA certificate from a trusted browser root store. From this CA certificate it is possible to create trusted SSL certificates for any domain name which can be used for man-in-the-middle and phishing attacks. SSL certificates using the safe SHA-1 hash function are not affected.

Worldwide about 30 percent of all SSL certificates use the unsafe MD5 algorithm. All SwissSign certificates are fraud resistant because SwissSign uses the high quality SHA-1 hash function.

SwissSign feels confirmed in his philosophy to offer solutions with uncompromising security technology. SwissSign customers can be sure to own certificates meeting the highest security requirements. An overview of SwissSign SSL certificates can be found on https://swisssign.com/productoverview.
