With SwissSign you obtain certificates in two ways:

The decision about the most appropriate way of obtaining certificates in your case depends on a variety of criteria: Number of certificates, required flexibility or degree of automation (eg. e-mail gateway integration).

Advantages of Managed PKI versus Webshop:

• Certificate issuance and revocation by the customer 24h, 7/7 days within a few minutes.
• No loop to the SwissSign registration authority (RA). Required documents such as registration form have to be submitted once only at the beginning rather than for each certificate request.
• Provision of a web interface for manual issue of certificates by the customer or standard interface for automated issue via SecureMail gateways, for example.
• Pricing model with significantly increasing volume discounts, more than in the webshop.
• Cost control thanks to simple billing model with an annual flat rate.
• Billing only for maximum number of simultaneously active certificates: if a certificate is revoked and then re-issued this is considered as only one certificate.
• Billing per subject instead of per certificate: certificates can be issued for signature, for encryption or for authentication. If these are always made out to the same subject (person, e-mail address etc.), they are billed only once in the case of Managed PKI.
• Consideration of already obtained certificates from other projects when structuring offers (case-by-case analysis with individual offer).
